*The original application was for Huntington Beach, the service there was

originally using several hundred blue 96-gallon roll cans scattered up and down

the beach. Some of the issues were that using so many 96-gallon cans cluttered

up the beach and the blue color was out of place for the beach environment.

*Larger cans were needed to hold the large volume of waste generated for the

popular beach. The smaller 96-gallon cans were easily tipped over or would over

flow from not enough capacity. Also, a very large nuisance issue on the beach

and in public spaces in general such as parks is the birds scavenging and

scattering trash around. The wide body design of the EZSTREET® cans, can hold

twice the volume of a 96 gallon with a much larger foot print so they are not

easily knocked over and the auto closing lid keeps the birds out.

*Judging from the response from the city since using the new EZSTREET® cans

on the beach they have been very pleased that the bird issues have been

resolved.

* Another benefit is that the color of the new cans is a sand color that blends in

and compliments the surrounding environment instead of clashing with it.

*The EZSTREET® cans have an advantage over smaller roll cans in applications

for larger generators where more volume is needed for medium or small

businesses.

*The lack of adequate space can also be an issue for maneuvering large

equipment and servicing front load containers in areas of low hanging wires.

*Using the EZSTREET®cans offer more of an individual service instead of front

load containers that are easy targets for abuse, and illegal dumping at collection

areas.

*The cans are very easily moved around with the addition of the locking third

wheel caster. The EZSTREET® containers can be rolled out for collection and

brought back to a predetermined location, in some cases enclosures are not

necessary.

*All managers are constantly aware of the safety factor for potential injury to a

driver and the high cost of workman's comp insurance. Keeping drivers safe and

out of harms way whenever possible. Reducing the stress of pushing or pulling

large front load containers in and out of enclosures can greatly reduce exposure.

*Another application for the EZSTREET® 160 is providing recycling programs to

the schools in and around Huntington Beach. Schools are located in high-density

residential areas and must be serviced in the early morning hours.

For multiple day collection a side load truck that is headed out on route can

easily go by and service EZSTREET® containers with minimal time and very little

noise and disruption to the community.

*Key advantage of using the EZSTREET® cans would be that automated trucks

that are going out on route everyday can easily service the EZSTREET® cans

safely, quietly, and efficiently.

*Once the cans are in place the cost to provide service is negligible.

Other possible uses would be for:

Rural routes,

We were looking for a solution to combine routes in a rural area we were servicing. A second truck was being used to collect a few larger containers in this rural area. By integrating the EZSTREET®195 gal cans into the route we were able to eliminate the second truck altogether. We were also able to reduce our over time on rural routes to under 40 per week.

. This has not only freed up equipment for other uses but has saved a considerable amount of time and unnecessary costs.

After converting a rural route to the EZSTREET®195 gal can we have saved driver time, equipment, and fuel costs. I would recommend any route manager looking to improve route efficiency to look at including the EZSTREET® cans into their operations wherever needed for integrating routes.

 Pete Smart with Coos Bay Waste Connections in Coos Bay, Oregon uses the 

EZSTREET160® gallon cans in their operations. He likes to use EZSTREET® cans for larger generators in remote areas so they can save time and money by using his side load automated trucks that are in those areas weekly instead of having to send a separate front load truck out to service those customers. 

Customers favor using the larger EZSTREET®160 gallon can instead of having to try to squeeze their trash into two or three 96 gal cans. He also uses the EZSTREET®160 cans in commercial areas that are too restrictive and may pose a danger for a possible accident. Another advantage of using the EZSTREET® cans, are when they have smaller commercial generators close to residential areas. Front load commercial trucks are very large and noisy, which causes customer complaints about the noise.
